InspectorTools Ultimate Low Level Carbon Monoxide Alarm Kit
** FREE 2-DAY DELIVERY ON THE DEFENDER ALARM KIT **
The Defender CO Alarm Kit includes one each of the CA6150 and LL6170 low-level CO alarms. This exclusive package features both a low-level UL-2034 CO alarm (often required by code) and a low-level CO alarm that continuously displays detected CO levels of 5 ppm or more.
With the model LL6270, the CO level is measured every 5 seconds, with a visual alert at 9 ppm and audible and visual alarms at 15 ppm. The sealed lithium batteries in model LL6270 are non-removable and warranted to power the monitor for a minimum of 3 years, while the lithium battery in model CA6150 features a 10-year lifespan.
Why would you want both models? With the Defender CA6150, users can read and monitor current and peak CO levels as low as 10 ppm, but due to UL-2034 requirements, they must press a button on the front of the unit to check for CO levels under 70 ppm. By comparison, the model LL6270 will visually alert users to levels as low as 5 ppm and audibly as low as 15 ppm. Using both models, users satisfy the UL-2034 code requirement while also providing additional low-level alarm coverage of the LL6270. Both units feature a quick, easy, and secure mounting system.
Below are product descriptions for each model:
The Defender LL2170 Low Level CO Monitor helps to protect against low CO poisoning by providing an early warning before CO levels reach 25 ppm averaged over 8 hours, which is the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) limit.
The model LL6270 (replaces the LL6170) is a professional-quality, low-level carbon monoxide monitor that continuously monitors the environment and displays levels of CO 5 ppm or higher. The LL6270 is an early detection CO alarm that flashes a red warning LED at 9 ppm, sounds an audible warning at 15 ppm, and activates an audible alarm at 25 ppm. The factory-sealed lithium batteries are non-removable and warranted to power the monitor for a minimum of 3 years. The battery life is less than that of some CO alarms due to the continuous monitoring - samples are measured every 5 seconds.
Why would you want the LL6270 vs the UL-approved CA6150? Keep in mind that carbon monoxide (CO) is an odorless, colorless gas that can cause death, and exposure to low CO levels (30 ppm or less) can cause long-term health damage even after the CO source is removed. The UL 2034 Safety Standard for Carbon Monoxide Alarms does not permit UL-listed CO alarms to activate an alarm below 30 ppm – ever! The Defender LL6270 is for people who know that the level is too high and want protection from low-level CO poisoning. To do so, the model LL6270 sets lower alarm thresholds more closely aligned with leading health, safety, and medical organizations rather than the UL-2034 standard of 70 ppm.
The DEFENDER CA6150 is a Low-Level Carbon Monoxide Alarm designed to alert users to low levels of CO poisoning while still meeting UL-2034 standards. With the touch of a button, the Defender CA6150 enables you to monitor the CO level as low as 10 PPM and up to 999 PPM. It also displays the duration of the highest CO level detected.
At any time, users can easily read and monitor current and peak CO levels by pressing a button on the front panel of the alarm; however, all visual and audible alarm thresholds adhere to the UL-2034 standard. The CA6150 is an advanced, professional-grade CO alarm featuring a large digital display and sealed lithium battery for uninterrupted protection. Includes a quick, easy, and secure mounting system and is UL listed to the latest ANSI/UL-2034 residential safety standards.
Why should you consider a Defender CO Alarm? The CA6150 addresses the health risks of low CO exposure. Studies show that both short-term exposures to high concentrations of CO and or repeated long-term exposures to lower concentrations of CO (under 30 ppm) can result in serious health effects. Those at high risk include young children, pregnant women (and their unborn children), older adults, and persons with medical conditions.
The Defender CA6150 is safely secured with a screw through the alarm into its mounting plate, and the two lithium batteries are non-removable. Defender guarantees that the CA6150's lithium batteries will power the CO alarm for ten years. The Defender CA6150 also complies with ASHRAE, CSFM, and NFPA. Applications include homes, townhouses, condominiums, multi-unit residences, apartments, nursing homes, and daycare facilities.
Every Defender CA6150 is 100% tested at three different levels of carbon monoxide during production and is approved by the California State Fire Marshal (CSFM).
